Why do I Need to Authenticate a Machine?

Authenticating a machine is a security measure by Zenoti. A machine's authentication is a must to establish the validity of the user.

Who can Authenticate a Machine?

Only an owner, with an authentication permission, can authenticate a machine. This means that the Zenoti software is accessible only on machines that are owner authenticated or approved. This measure enables an owner to have control on the machines being used by employees to access the software.

When Should a Machine be Authenticated?

Authentication is only needed once. After the machine authentication is successfully, it can be used to access Zenoti. This is only a one-time process.

How to Authenticate a Machine?

To authenticate a machine:

  1. Click the Authenticate machine link on the login screen.
  2. Enter owner's username and password, select the center, and then click Authenticate.

    After authentication, the system displays a message: "Machine Authenticated successfully. Please login now."

    Your employees can now log in to Zenoti using their credentials.

Troubleshooting Authentication Issues

At times, you may come across authentication problems such as being asked to re-authenticate even though the owner has authenticated the machine. You can address these problems using the following troubleshooting solutions.

  • Download Adobe Flash Player and enable it. See Flash Player Settings.
  • Ensure that the browser cookies and history were not cleared while clearing your browsing history (authentication credentials are stored in the form of cookies).
    See Update Browser Settings.
  • Check your antivirus software settings:
    • If your computer has any antivirus software installed, ensure it does not remove the flash player data stored on your computer.
    • If your computer has any antivirus software installed (like CCleaner), ensure that your Zenoti business URL (example: is in the exception list. This does not delete the cookies from the system and stores the information in the computer.

Flash Player Settings 

  1. Enter URL: in a browser.
    The Adobe Flash Player Settings page opens.
  2. Click Global Security Settings panel on the Settings Manager (left panel).
    The Global Security Settings opens.
    This panel must display your Zenoti business name URL ( If it does not display, proceed to the next step.
  3. Select the Always Allow radio button.
  4. Click the Edit Locations… drop-down and select Add Location.
  5. Enter your business URL and click Confirm.
  6. Click Website Privacy Settings panel on the Settings Manager (left panel).
    Click the FP2.png icon.
    The Website Privacy Settings Panel opens.
  7. Ensure your Zenoti business URL has FP3.png against it in the list. If it has the FP4.png icon, select the URL and click the Always allow option.
  8. Click Website Storage Settings panel on the Settings Manager (left panel).
    Click the FP5.png icon.
    The Website Storage Settings Panel opens.
  9. Verify how much data can be stored by your Zenoti business site. Keep the slider to 100 KB.
  10. Click Peer-Assisted Networking panel.
    Click the FP6.png icon.
    The Peer-Assisted Networking panel opens.
  11. Ensure your Zenoti business URL has the FP3.png icon against its name in the list.


Update Browser Settings

To ensure you do not delete browser cookies, update your browser settings as follows:

For Firefox:

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Click the Open Menu option.
  3. Click Options.
  4. Click Privacy.
  5. From the 'Firefox will' drop-down list, select Remember History.
  6. Click Clear your recent history.
  7. Select the time range for which you want to clear history.
  8. Click Details.
  9. Deselect the Cookies check box.
  10. Click Clear Now.
  11. Click Advanced.
  12. Click the Network tab.
  13. Select the Override automatic cache management check box.
  14. Set the cache limit to 1024 MB.

For Google Chrome:

If you are using Google Chrome, you must first check if the Flash Player setting To enable Flash Player to always run is always allowed to run. Follow the steps mentioned in the following link:

If the problem persists, you must clear the browsing data as follows:

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click the Customize and control Google Chrome option on the top-right.
  3. Click Settings > History > Clear browsing data.
  4. Clear the Cookies and other site and plugin data checkbox.
  5. Click Clear browsing data.
